I went to school with Philip… I used to think I looked a bit like him, like he could’ve been my brother. Haha, weird I know… Of course we never knew each other, I would just see him from time to time, but his happy cheeks would remind me of how I looked when I smiled :) Why wouldn’t that be a good thing?
I met them again a little over a year ago at his sister’s wedding which I also photographed. Their beautiful little girl, Kate River, was still a baby, but on this day she was so full of life and running around smiling, playing hide-and-seek and getting everyone excited! She is very much like her awesome mom… Aimee is wild and wonderful and her uniqueness naturally called for a very unique wedding. Even her gorgeous dress and bridesmaids dresses were designed for her by a brilliant South African designer and friend Sies!Isabelle.
After a walk through town, everyone settled in for an a-mazing lunch at the ever-so-popular Hoi Poloi Boutique Caffe in Parys, a place where Philip and Aimee’s faces are all too familiar :) We sneaked off for a late afternoon couple shoot while everyone went home to freshen up and regroup later on at the Pickled Pig, another popular spot in the artsy country town, where they ripped the dance floor apart to the tunes of Awolnation!
We were so happy to be a part of their day and especially that we could do everything just a little bit differently, in true Claassens style!
